The Sarkin Hausawan Arewa and Peace Ambassador, Alhaji Balarabe Tatari, has mourned the deaths of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, an elder statesman, business mogul, and philanthropist; Malam YanKaba; and Imam Malam Mansur.
In a condolence message issued on Friday, Tatari, who also chairs the Kantin Kwari Forum and leads the Kantin Kwari Market Houses, described the deaths as a major loss to Kano State, Northern Nigeria, and the African continent.
According to him, the late Muhammadu Buhari was “a committed and honest individual whose integrity and character earned global respect.”
“Many people can testify to his patriotic service and selfless contributions to the nation,” Tatari said, adding that Buhari’s leadership stood out for its simplicity and commitment to national unity.
Commenting on the passing of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, Tatari described him as “a wealthy man with a genuine passion for community development,” noting that his philanthropic efforts reached beyond commercial ventures.
“I visited him after I became Sarkin Hausawan Arewa and informed him about the challenges facing traders,” Tatari said. “He instructed us to request land from the government so he could build a market for us free of charge. We tried our best and even announced it on radio, but it was not destined to happen.”
He said Dantata’s death leaves behind many unfinished charitable efforts, adding, “May Allah have mercy on him, accept his soul in peace, and grant him Paradise (Aljannatul Firdaus).”
Tatari also sent his condolences to the families of Malam YanKaba and Imam Malam Mansur, as well as to the government and people of Kano State.
“May Allah forgive their shortcomings, have mercy on their souls, and admit them into Aljannatul Firdaus,” he prayed.
