Nigeria’s Consul-General in Cameroon, Coker, Dies

Nigeria’s Consul-General in Buea, Republic of Cameroon, Ambassador Taofik Obasanjo Coker, has died at the age of 59.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed his death in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, on Sunday in Abuja.

Coker passed away on Saturday, August 16, after a brief illness.

The statement described him as “a hardworking and dedicated career diplomat who served Nigeria with distinction, commitment and professionalism.”

“Prior to his appointment and assumption of duty as Consul-General in Buea, he served Nigeria meritoriously in our Missions in Conakry, Guinea, and Shanghai, China,” the ministry said.
