A peace ambassador, Dr. Ekiye C. Ekiye, has commended the Minority Leader of the Tenth House of Representatives, Rep. Kingsley Chinda, and his colleagues for their constructive and peaceful approach to leadership.
In a statement over the weekend titled “A Call for Peace, Unity and Constructive Leadership,” Ekiye lauded Chinda’s calm and measured style in resolving complex national issues.
He said Nigerians should continue to support decisions and actions that promote peace, progress, and unity, values he described as essential for true nation-building.
Ekiye particularly praised Chinda, saying the lawmaker exemplifies leadership marked by wisdom, loyalty, and purpose. He described Chinda as a seasoned lawmaker, a man of peace, and a dependable leader committed to national interests.
He urged Nigerians to rethink the perception that opposition must be confrontational, noting that constructive opposition involves holding power accountable respectfully while working toward solutions that benefit the people.
“The current peace and stability we are witnessing in the National Assembly and the Federal Government is no accident. It is because we have leaders in the opposition like Chinda who understand that crisis is not a path to progress, but peace is,” he added.
Ekiye described Chinda as well-schooled, well-prepared, and experienced, emphasising that leadership should be a platform for dialogue, negotiation, and service, rather than a battlefield.
He stressed the importance of peace, noting that in a time when some seek to divide and disrupt, it is essential to support those who build, unite, and lead with integrity. He applauded Chinda and other patriotic lawmakers for their contributions to national unity and development.
Ekiye concluded by urging Nigerians to reject divisive politics and embrace purposeful leadership. “Let us value leaders who seek solutions, not strife, and remain united in the belief that a peaceful and progressive Nigeria is possible and a collective responsibility,” he said.
