The Founder of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has donated a fully equipped two-storey building to the Alliance Française Kano, complete with modern classrooms, digital language laboratories, multimedia studios, and learning-engineered furniture.
Prof. Gwarzo also provided an additional N10 million to support the centre’s operations and ensure its sustainability.
The building, unveiled by the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Marc Fonbaustier, is fitted with smart learning boards, high-speed internet, conference halls, audio-visual teaching aids, and a digital resource library.
Located at Ahmadiyya Junction along Airport Road, the facility is regarded as one of the most sophisticated French language and cultural training centres in Northern Nigeria.
Prof. Gwarzo said the establishment of the ultra-modern edifice would boost bilingual education in Kano, giving students access to world-class French language training.
Also speaking, the French Ambassador, Marc Fonbaustier, commended Prof. Gwarzo for the donation and the world-class facilities, and prayed, “May God grant Prof. Gwarzo long life and good health so he can continue the remarkable humanitarian and educational contributions he has been known for.”
The Director of Alliance Française Kano, Ali Dabo, expressed profound appreciation to Prof. Gwarzo, saying, “In the decades of the centre’s presence in Kano, no individual has redesigned, transformed, or upgraded the centre to this exceptional standard the way Prof. Gwarzo has done.”
He added, “We also thank Prof. Gwarzo for finally providing the organisation with a permanent and dignified office after operating as a tenant for over a decade.”
