2026 Will Be a Year of Hope for Nigeria – Remi Tinubu

The First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed optimism about the year 2026, saying it holds renewed hope and the assurance of God’s promises for the nation.

Mrs Tinubu said this in her New Year message to Nigerians, released via her official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday.

She said she was filled with gratitude to God as the country ushered in the New Year with joy and great expectations for a better future.

According to her, the outgoing year once again highlighted the resilience and enduring spirit of Nigerians, whom she described as courageous, strong and creative, with an unwavering belief in a brighter tomorrow.

“My heart is filled with gratitude to God Almighty as we witness this New Year, with joy, great hope, and an assurance of God’s promises for our great nation.

“The past year reaffirmed the enduring spirit of Nigerians: our courage, our strength, our creativity, and our unwavering belief in a better tomorrow,” she said.

The First Lady said she was deeply inspired by Nigerians across the country who continued to work tirelessly to uplift their families, communities and the nation.

“I am deeply inspired by the women, men, and young people across the nation who continue to work tirelessly to uplift their families, communities, and our country,” she said.

Mrs Tinubu called for unity and compassion in the New Year, urging Nigerians to embrace peace, empathy and togetherness.

She also appealed to citizens to prioritise investments in the wellbeing of children, women and vulnerable groups.

The First Lady encouraged Nigerians to create opportunities within their various spheres that would enable all citizens to live and thrive with dignity.

“I believe in Nigeria and we should all invest in what she can become. Happy New Year, Nigeria. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” she added.
