Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has commended troops deployed in Kano North Senatorial District for their efforts in halting bandits’ attacks and restoring peace to the communities.
Senator Jibrin made this known during a visit to troops’ camps in Gwarzo, Shanono and Tsanyawa Local Government Areas of Kano North Senatorial District.
A statement posted on Senator Jibrin’s official Facebook page on Sunday disclosed that the visit commenced early from the airport at about 7:00 a.m., after which he proceeded directly to Lakwaya ward in Gwarzo Local Government Area to interact with security operatives stationed at their camp.
In the company of the Garrison Commander of the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Kano, Lieutenant Colonel I. Ekoh, and other senior security officials, Senator Jibrin inspected a parade of troops led by the Joint Task Force (JTF) Commander in Gwarzo, Lieutenant Abdullahi Sadiq.
Speaking during the visit, the Deputy Senate President praised the soldiers for their dedication, saying, “I thanked the troops for working tirelessly to safeguard our people and their properties.”
He further urged the security operatives to sustain their operations and maintain the momentum in the fight against bandits.
“I urge the troops to sustain the tempo and go after these people who don’t want peace in our land. The bandits who are terrorising our people should be flushed out,” he said.
Senator Jibrin also called on residents of the affected communities to support the security operatives, adding, “I urge the communities to give maximum support and cooperation to the security operatives. They need the support of all and sundry to succeed.”
After the Gwarzo camp, Senator Jibrin proceeded to Tsaure and Faruruwa camps in Shanono LGA and later visited the troops’ camp in Tsanyawa LGA, where he addressed the security personnel at each location.
The lawmaker also said he interacted with community leaders in Faruruwa ward of Shanono LGA, praying for peace and protection for residents.
He said, “We pray for peace and protection for our people and we must work together to ensure lasting security in our communities.”
