Former Kano State Governor and leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Sunday received a solidarity visit from residents of Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State at his residence in Kano.
Kwankwaso disclosed this in a post on his official X handle on Sunday, where he expressed appreciation to the delegation for their continued support despite recent political challenges.
According to him, the visit reflected the courage and determination of the people to stand by the ideals of the Kwankwasiyya movement.
“I reaffirm my profound appreciation for their unwavering courage and determination. Despite the recent trials that have tested the faith and fortitude of many, they have chosen to stand firmly with us—not for personal gain, but for the collective progress and well-being of our people,” he said.
Kwankwaso noted that the visitors’ loyalty was driven by their commitment to advancing the principles of the Kwankwasiyya movement, which he described as a people-oriented political philosophy.
He assured his supporters that the movement remained focused and determined to achieve its goals.
“Together, we remain resolute in upholding and advancing the timeless ideals of Kwankwasiyya. The journey continues, and victory is assured by the grace of God and the will of the people,” he added.
It would be recalled that Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside 21 members of the State House of Assembly, eight members of the House of Representatives, and 44 local government chairmen, resigned from the NNPP on Friday over unresolved leadership disagreements and ongoing legal battles within the party.
