JUST IN: FG grants Rwandan citizens 30-day visa-free entry

The Federal Government has approved a 30-day visa-free entry for citizens of Rwanda, reciprocating a similar travel policy earlier introduced by the East African country.

The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Friday, saying all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the implementation of the policy.

According to the agency, the decision followed a directive by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between both countries.

The announcement comes as Tinubu is currently in Kigali, Rwanda, attending the Africa CEO Forum, which commenced on Thursday.

Ahead of the forum, the Nigerian leader held bilateral talks with Rwanda’s President, Paul Kagame, focusing on cooperation, trade expansion and regional integration.

The Federal Government said the visa-free arrangement aligns with Nigeria’s commitment to pan-African cooperation and improved mobility across the continent.
