A former ministerial nominee, Maryam Shettima, popularly known as Maryam Shetty, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.
Mrs Shetty described Mr Tinubu’s emergence as a reflection of the confidence and trust party members and stakeholders have in his leadership.
Speaking in an interview with journalists in Kano, she said the president’s victory at the party’s primaries was well-deserved.
“I congratulate President Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections. His victory is well-deserved and reflects the confidence reposed in him by party members and stakeholders,” she said.
The former ministerial nominee also congratulated Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other APC candidates who emerged victorious during the party’s primaries conducted across the country.
According to her, their emergence demonstrates the level of trust and support they enjoy within the ruling party.
Mrs Shetty commended the APC National Working Committee, led by Nentawe Yilwatda, for what she described as purposeful leadership and for ensuring peaceful, transparent, and successful primaries nationwide.
She said the smooth conduct of the exercise reflected the growing strength, internal democracy, and unity within the party.
“The peaceful conduct of the primaries clearly shows the growing strength, unity, and internal democracy within the APC,” she stated.
Mrs Shetty expressed optimism that the ruling party would continue to grow stronger and remain committed to providing good governance and sustainable development for Nigerians.
She also wished all APC candidates success as political parties intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
