The Chairman of the Shamiha Charity Foundation and Secretary of Rano Local Government Area of Kano State, Dr. Ismail Yusuf Musa, has announced plans to launch a free medical outreach programme for pregnant women and children across the local government area.
Dr. Musa made the announcement on Tuesday in Kano, stating that the initiative is aimed at improving access to basic healthcare services for vulnerable members of the community.
According to him, the outreach, tagged “Flag-Off of Free Medical Outreach for Pregnant Women and Children,” will provide a range of free healthcare services, including antenatal care, health education and counselling, child health consultations, and free basic medications.
“Shamiha Charity Foundation proudly invites the general public to the flag-off of its free medical outreach for pregnant women and children. The programme will offer free antenatal care, health education and counselling, child health consultations, as well as free basic medications,” he said.
The foundation chairman explained that the exercise will cover residents from all wards in Rano Local Government Area, including Dawaki, Lausu, Madachi, Rano, Rurum Sabon Gari, Rurum Tsohon Gari, Saji, Yalwa, Zinyau, and Zurgu.
He urged pregnant women, parents, and guardians to take advantage of the opportunity to access quality healthcare services at no cost.
The outreach is scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Dawaki Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Rano Local Government Area, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Dr. Musa called on members of the public to participate in the programme, describing it as part of the foundation’s commitment to supporting the health and well-being of communities across the area.
