APC More Suitable Platform for Me — Ex-Kano PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate

A former deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kano State, Dr. Yusuf Bello Dambatta, has said the All Progressives Congress, APC, provides a more suitable platform for him to contribute to the development of Kano State and Nigeria.

Dambatta stated this while formally announcing his defection to the APC in a statement posted on his social media page on Friday.

The former PDP chieftain said his decision followed extensive consultations with political leaders, associates, supporters and other stakeholders.

“I hereby formally announce my decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC),” he said.

According to him, the move was reached after careful consideration and wide consultations with his political allies and supporters.

“I am convinced that the APC provides a more suitable platform for me to contribute effectively to the advancement of our people and the development of our state and the nation at large,” Dambatta stated.

He said he was particularly inspired by the leadership of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the implementation of the Kano First Agenda.

“In particular, I am deeply inspired by the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the transformative Kano First Agenda, which has demonstrated a clear commitment to good governance, human capital development, infrastructure renewal and the overall progress of Kano State,” he added.

Dambatta further attributed his decision to what he described as the growing spirit of inclusiveness within the APC and the party’s commitment to the welfare of the people.

“I am equally motivated by the growing spirit of inclusiveness within the APC, the party’s commitment to the welfare of the people, and the opportunity to contribute more effectively to the advancement of our state and nation,” he said.

The former deputy governorship candidate pledged his continued commitment to public service, unity and policies that would promote peace and sustainable development.

“As I rejoin my political family, I reaffirm my unwavering commitment to the service of the people, the promotion of unity, and the pursuit of policies and programmes that will enhance peace, prosperity and sustainable development,” he said.

Dambatta also expressed appreciation to members and leaders of the PDP for their support and cooperation during his time in the party.

“I sincerely wish to extend my appreciation to members and leaders of the PDP for the relationships, support and experiences shared over the years, and I look forward to working with members of the APC and all well-meaning citizens in support of the Kano First Agenda and the continued development of our dear state,” he stated.
