The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, against placing trust in his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, claiming that the former Kano State governor could jeopardise Obi’s presidential ambition.
Ayodele, in a statement issued on Friday by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, alleged that Obi was allowing his desperation for power to cloud his judgment and prevent him from recognising the political realities around him.
The cleric claimed that Obi had ignored several warnings and was now surrounded by individuals who did not genuinely support his political aspirations.
“Peter Obi doesn’t listen to divine instructions, and because of this, he has fallen into the wrong hands regarding his ambition.
“Kwankwaso isn’t ready to fight for him; he will eventually sell him out, but he doesn’t know it yet. He has already muddled Obi’s presidential ambition,” Ayodele said.
He further alleged that Kwankwaso’s actions were driven solely by personal interests and not by a commitment to Obi’s political success.
According to him, Obi remains unaware of developments around him that could ultimately undermine his chances in the presidential race.
“Kwankwaso is doing everything for his personal interest and nothing more. I wish Obi’s eyes could be opened to what is happening around him, but he can’t see it.
“I don’t hate Peter Obi. I admire his courage, but he is not yet mature enough for the position he is seeking.
“However, Kwankwaso’s plans will soon be exposed, but it will be too late for Peter Obi because he has gone too deep into it,” he added.
