A delegation of journalists and media professionals has inspected the ongoing Kano Northern Bypass project being executed by the Federal Government under the administration of President Bola Tinubu in Kano State.
The inspection tour was organised by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Enlightenment, Malam Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, ahead of the Arewa Media Summit.
The 38-kilometre bypass extends from the Kano–Hadejia Road to the Kano–Katsina Road and is designed to divert heavy-duty vehicles from the Kano metropolis.
Officials said the project would reduce traffic congestion, improve the movement of goods and passengers, lower transportation costs, and support commercial activities along the corridor when completed.
Communities expected to benefit from the project include Zaura, Dawanau, Tarda and other adjoining areas through increased economic activities and investment opportunities.
The organisers said the project tour was aimed at providing journalists and media influencers with firsthand information on infrastructure projects being implemented by the Tinubu administration across Northern Nigeria.
The Arewa Media Summit is scheduled to hold on July 6, 2026, at the Coronation Hall, Kano State Government House. It will bring together journalists, media influencers and communication experts to discuss the role of the media in promoting development in Northern Nigeria.
