Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated a 17-member committee to draft the blueprint for his 2027 governorship campaign and review the implementation of his administration’s 2023 policy document, My Commitment for Kano.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.
According to the statement, the committee will prepare Blueprint 2.0, which will outline the administration’s policy direction and strategic vision for the 2027–2031 period.
“The committee is mandated to review the implementation of the 2023 blueprint, My Commitment for Kano, identify areas yet to be fully implemented and incorporate them into Blueprint 2.0,” the statement said.
It added, “The committee will also articulate Governor Yusuf’s priorities and strategic vision for a second term from 2027 to 2031.”
The statement said the committee would work under the supervision of Governor Yusuf and his deputy, Murtala Sule Garo.
Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba was named chairman, while the Executive Chairman of Strategic Governance and Policy Coordination, Dr. Yusuf Ya’u Gambo, will serve as secretary.
Other members are Dr. Ibrahim Musa, Mallam Haladu Muhammad, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Muhammad Nazir Halliru, Nana Asma’u Jibrin, Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkar, Dr. Farouk Kurawa, Kabiru Sani Yakubu, Dr. Abdulhadi Zubairu Chula, Engr. Yesmin Mukhtar, Dr. Halima Umar Sani, Dr. Kabiru Shehu, Barr. Musa Lawan Abdullahi, Dr. Nasiru Alasan Kabo and Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso.
The statement added that the committee would engage stakeholders from government and non-government sectors in developing the document.
“It is expected to engage stakeholders from both state and non-state sectors to generate innovative ideas and policy recommendations that will produce a comprehensive, inclusive and people-driven blueprint capable of consolidating the gains of the present administration and accelerating Kano State’s development,” the statement added.
