Former Barau FC midfielder Nana Kwame Abraham has completed a move to Niger Super Ligue club AS GNN (Association Sportive de la Garde Nationale) ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder sealed the transfer after an impressive campaign with Barau FC in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Nana Kwame played a key role for the Kano-based club, contributing several assists as Barau FC finished eighth in the NPFL and reached the quarter-finals of the President Federation Cup.
Announcing the move on his verified Facebook page, the midfielder said he was delighted to begin a new chapter in his career.
“I am delighted to announce that I have joined Association Sportive de la Garde Nationale (AS GNN FC) of the Republic of Niger.
“Following an agreement with the club, I have signed a one-year contract that will keep me at the club until the end of next season,” he wrote.
The midfielder also reflected on his time in Nigeria, where he played for Kano clubs Barau FC and Chanji FC.
“I am excited to begin this new chapter of my career with AS GNN. I sincerely appreciate all the support, prayers and encouragement I have received from my wonderful fans. Your unwavering belief in me has been a great source of motivation, and I look forward to making you proud,” he added.
Before his spell in Nigeria, Nana Kwame featured for AS Garde Nationale in Niger, winning the Niger Premier League and the Niger Cup.
The club has also represented Niger in continental competitions, including the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
