From Muhammad Kabir, Kano
The massive turnout and tremendous support shown by the people of Kano and members of various support groups under the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu clearly show good tidings ahead of 2027.
To me, the mammoth crowd that witnessed the official inauguration of the TSG and the defection of some prominent politicians, including Senator Kabiru Gaya and other political heavyweights, shows that Kano has opened the victory journey for President Tinubu’s second term in office.
The massive turnout preceded the official inauguration of the national structure and state executive committee members of the biggest pioneer and mother of all support groups, TSG, which, for the second time, started the movement for the realisation of the presidential ambition of then-Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Jagaban of Borgu Kingdom, sometime in early 2020 under the visionary leadership of its founder and convener, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.
That is why I personally thank Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for appointing me as the new Director-General of TSG. I also thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the honour done to our family, the family of Alhaji Tanko Yakasai.
“We are grateful. Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke and some notable personalities sowed the seed of the presidential journey of Mr President at a time when no one believed it was possible and many were too afraid to openly declare support for Asiwaju.
“He led a team of very bold, audacious, courageous and patriotic Nigerians to start Asiwaju’s journey to the Villa at a time when it was either too dangerous or perilous to even think or contemplate the idea of supporting Asiwaju’s presidential ambition.
“So, today, Your Excellencies, special dignitaries and all our support group members here present, it gives me great pleasure to say that we are standing on the shoulders of our founding fathers of TSG. We are standing on the legacy of our visionary leaders, and we proudly pledge to carry the flag high, sustain the TSG movement and deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in the 2027 presidential election.
“Our leader, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, we assure you that we understand the enormous tasks and responsibilities you have placed on our shoulders, the need to sustain your legacies and continue to build on the foundation laid by our founding fathers.
“My team and I pledge not to fail you and commit to working very hard, with zeal, passion, dedication and commitment, to deliver on this mandate and task.
“We do not take this trust placed in us for granted. We are truly grateful.
“At this juncture, let me commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for saving Nigeria from economic collapse. He took a shattered and battered economy, turned it around and stabilised it. This was attested to by Dr Okonjo-Iweala.
“Our foreign reserves have risen to over $53 billion from a net $3.89 billion. Inflation has fallen to 15.43 per cent from over 34 per cent, while GDP has grown to 4.43 per cent in the second quarter of 2026, with a nominal GDP of N119.27 trillion.
“He cleared over $7 billion in loans and an additional $3.5 billion COVID-19 loan. He tripled the FAAC allocation to states, with state governments now paying salaries without bailouts. Many states have begun paying their inherited loans.
“He created NELFUND to support students, granted financial autonomy to local governments, and created additional regional development commissions for equality and regional growth.
“Mr President appointed over 50 Kano indigenes into his government for inclusion. He completed the Kano-Kaduna Expressway. The following projects are ongoing: Gwarzo Road, Katsina Road, Daura Road, among others. Mr President has done a lot for Kano and is still doing more.
“At this juncture, Your Excellencies, let me inform our leader, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, that His Excellency, Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Balaraben Gwamna, has turned the face of Kano around. Everywhere you go in Kano has been turned into a construction site, something never seen in the history of Kano.
“Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, as the late Hausa singer said, ‘Lalle Abba Ka Cika Gwarzo: Komai Ake Bukata Kayi! Kana ta Aiki, Su Ko Suna Ta Ihun Banza!’
“Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf has become the father of modern Kano.
“He has empowered thousands of women and youths with skills and take-off grants, donated thousands of plots of land to our youths, settled pension arrears, settled the issues of political appointees and employed thousands of youths. He has also provided foreign scholarships.
“Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf is one of the No. 1 supporters of Mr President, not only in Kano but in Nigeria.
“Our leader, kindly inform Mr President that with Gov. Abba in Kano as the Kano State Coordinator of PBAT PCC, In Shaa Allah, he should rest assured of his resounding victory at the polls in 2027.
“No victory for ADC and NDC.
“Let me end my speech by calling upon all our newly inaugurated national and state officials that the work starts from today. No resting, no lazing around.
“We should work hard to do more than what our founding leaders did by campaigning vigorously at the grassroots and delivering President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in the 2027 presidential election.
“Congratulations to you all.
“Let the work begin.
“Your Excellency, Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, as a son of Kano and your ardent supporter, I humbly request Your Excellency to support my leadership of the Tinubu Support Group to succeed.
“This position is for the entire people of Kano, due to the trust our leader, Founder/Convener, has in the people of Kano.”
