Zamfara 2027: Marafa vows to restore state’s glory

Sen. Kabiru Garba Marafa, governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed to restore the glory of Zamfara if elected governor in the Feb. 6, 2027 governorship election.

Marafa made the pledge on Monday while inaugurating his campaign council at Freedom Square in Gusau.

The former senator, who represented Zamfara Central Senatorial District from 2011 to 2019, said his administration would work closely with the people to address their challenges.

“My objective is to wipe away the tears of the people of Zamfara and restore the glorious days of the state,” he said.

He said details of his plans and programmes would be unveiled as he continued to engage residents across the state.

Marafa thanked his supporters for attending the inauguration and apologised for the delay in the commencement of the event.

The event, scheduled for noon, eventually commenced at about 8 p.m.

He explained that although he arrived in the state early in the morning, the massive reception by supporters disrupted his planned engagements.

The candidate arrived at the venue amid cheers from supporters, who gathered in large numbers to witness the inauguration.
