The Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Saidu Yahaya, has reportedly resigned his appointment.
Sources said the resignation followed alleged pressure from the state government over concerns about Yahaya’s political loyalty and his perceived closeness to former Gov. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The circumstances surrounding the reported resignation remain unclear, as neither Yahaya nor the Kano State Government has confirmed the development.
Yahaya was appointed chairman of the commission in August 2025 after the expiration of the tenure of Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado.
He was subsequently approved by the Kano State House of Assembly for a five-year tenure.
The reported resignation comes amid political realignments in the state following Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf’s defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
