Senator Babangida Hussaini, representing Jigawa Northwest and Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Northwest Development Commission (NWDC), has emphasized the importance of the Commission in addressing the socio-economic and infrastructural challenges of the Northwest region.
He stated that the committee’s focus is to ensure the Commission operates effectively and transparently, fulfilling its mandate to foster inclusive growth and improve the livelihoods of the region’s residents.
Speaking during an interview in his office, Senator Hussaini highlighted that the signing of the NWDC Bill into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu demonstrates the administration’s commitment to tackling the pressing issues of the Northwest. According to him, residents are optimistic about a future characterized by stability and prosperity.
He further noted that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aims to drive economic growth, improve living standards, and address critical governance and security issues. The administration has also established the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund to support infrastructure projects in key economic sectors.
On insecurity in the Northwest, Senator Hussaini remarked that addressing security challenges remains a priority for the administration. He called on citizens to support the Renewed Hope Agenda to ensure meaningful progress and national stability.
In the span of the 10th National Assembly, Senator Hussaini highlighted his efforts in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth empowerment across the 12 local government areas of his senatorial district. He described himself as a dedicated public servant committed to the well-being of his constituents.
Regarding his political future, Senator Hussaini stated that his current focus is on serving the people of Jigawa Northwest. While leaving his aspirations open to God’s will and the people’s wishes, he emphasized his passion for creating a positive impact in any capacity he might serve.
