New NSCDC chief pledges loyalty to Kano governor

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has received the newly posted Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bala Bawa Bodinga, who pledged to collaborate closely with the state government to strengthen security and protect lives and property.

The meeting took place during a courtesy visit at the Government House in Kano, according to a statement issued on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Bodinga assured Governor Yusuf of his loyalty and commitment to service, saying he would maintain professionalism and resist any influence that could undermine cooperation with the state government.

“I will work with the Kano Governor and will not allow any group or other forces to make me go against you,” the Commandant said.

He also pledged to deepen collaboration among security agencies to enhance peace and stability across the state.

Governor Yusuf welcomed the new Commandant and promised full support from the state government to ensure the NSCDC’s effective operations.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace, protecting citizens, and fostering inter-agency cooperation.

He commended the NSCDC for safeguarding critical national assets and promoting community safety, saying Kano would continue to partner with security institutions for the state’s stability and progress.
