Kano Police Spokesperson, 28 Others Promoted

The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Mr. Ibrahim Bakori, on Monday decorated 29 newly promoted officers of the command, including the Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, urging them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.

The ceremony, held at the Officers’ Mess in Kano, featured the decoration of officers whose promotions were approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC) on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun.

Bakori described the promotion as a well-deserved recognition of the officers’ dedication and exemplary service, noting that it was also a call to greater responsibility.

“The promotion is not merely a reward for past accomplishments but a call to greater responsibility. The challenges facing our nation today require innovative thinking, teamwork, and unwavering commitment,” he said.

He expressed appreciation to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1, Kano, for his mentorship and support, which he said had contributed to the command’s growth and efficiency.

According to him, two officers were promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police, 21 from Superintendent of Police to Chief Superintendent of Police, and six from Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police.

While congratulating the newly promoted officers, Bakori reminded them that their elevation came with higher expectations and renewed responsibilities. He urged them to lead by example and inspire their subordinates to remain committed to discipline and selfless service.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order across the state and assured residents of continued efforts to ensure a safer and more secure environment.
