Kano: Criminals Break Into Gaya LG Chairman’s Office, Steal Valuable Items

The Gaya Local Government Council in Kano State has condemned the burglary at the office of its Chairman, Hon. Mahmoud Tajo Sani, describing the incident as shameful and regrettable.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Chairman, Comrade Naziru Mukhtar Gaya, said the break-in occurred on Tuesday night and led to the theft of valuable items, including solar equipment used for the council’s daily operations.

“The office of the Chairman of Gaya Local Government, Hon. Mahmoud Tajo Sani, was broken into yesterday by criminal elements, resulting in the theft of important items,” the statement read.

Naziru described the act as unfortunate and shocking to residents of Gaya, noting that it undermined the chairman’s ongoing efforts to promote development in the area.

He added that security agencies had already launched an investigation to track down those behind the burglary.

“We strongly condemn this act and call on Almighty Allah to expose those responsible and protect Gaya Local Government from such unpatriotic behaviour,” he said.

According to him, the people of Gaya remain united and committed to the progress of their community despite the setback.

“The people of Gaya will not be distracted or discouraged by this incident. Our commitment to good governance and community development remains firm,” Naziru stated.
