Ex-Yobe First Lady Khadija Bukar Abba Loses APC Reps Ticket

The Member representing Damaturu/Gujba/Gulani/Tarmuwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim, has reportedly lost her bid to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the 2027 general elections.

Findings indicate that five out of the six APC House of Representatives members in Yobe State secured consensus tickets during the party’s primary process held on Saturday, while one sitting lawmaker failed to clinch renomination.

It was gathered that Khadija, who has represented the constituency since 2007, was replaced as the party’s consensus candidate by Nasiru Hassan Yusuf.

Khadija is the widow of the late former Yobe State Governor, Bukar Abba Ibrahim.

Meanwhile, the five other incumbent lawmakers were said to have emerged as consensus candidates. They include Engr. Muhammad Buba Jajere (Fika/Fune), Fatima Talba (Potiskum/Nangere), Lawan Shettima Ali (Gaidam/Yunusari/Bursari), Zanna Zakariya Yusufari (Nguru/Machina), and Hassan Kaikaku Jakduwa (Bade/Jakusko).

However, the APC in Yobe State has yet to officially confirm the outcome of the consensus arrangements as of press time.
