Kano Ministry Partners with AMG Foundation, YOSPIS to Eradicate Poverty

The Kano State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi, has expressed her commitment to advancing the ministry’s objectives by partnering with the AMG Foundation and the Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS).

The partnership was formalized during an event held on Wednesday in Kano.

Hajiya Amina highlighted that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has prioritized poverty eradication in Kano State through sustainable projects that benefit all citizens.

“In achieving sustainable projects to eradicate poverty in the state, partnership stands as a key strategy. We believe organizations like AMG Foundation and YOSPIS are at the forefront of this effort,” she said.

She further noted that the ministry will provide sanitary pads to adolescent girls in schools across the state, addressing a critical need that has led to absenteeism during their menstrual periods.

“As a social worker with vast experience, my administration will also focus on tackling issues such as drug abuse, unemployment, and crime among youth, which have hindered their potential to excel,” she added.

On her part, YOSPIS Executive Director, Zainab Nasir Ahmad, affirmed her organization’s commitment to partnering with the ministry to achieve these goals through sustainable strategies.
