Four children abducted from Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have been rescued and reunited with their families.
The children were handed over to Governor Uba Sani by the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
Announcing the development, Governor Sani stated, “The four children kidnapped from Millennium City have been released and handed over to me by Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser. I have reunited them with their parents.”
The rescue was achieved as part of a peace agreement facilitated by the Peace Dialogue Group, a collaborative initiative between the Kaduna State Government and the Office of the National Security Adviser.
Governor Sani elaborated on the approach adopted during the negotiations “We were deliberate and strategic in handling the peace negotiations, focusing on confidence-building and addressing the trust deficits that have undermined previous peace efforts,” he said.
The governor also highlighted the broader implications of the peace initiative in fostering stability in areas like Birnin Gwari and Chikun Local Government Areas.
“The release of these children is a testament to the Kaduna Peace Model’s effectiveness. It is our hope that this model will be replicated in other states and regions,” Governor Sani concluded.
