Katsina Police Neutralize 40 Bandits, Arrest 916 Criminals in 2024

The Katsina State Police Command has made significant progress in its fight against crime, neutralizing 40 bandits, arresting 916 criminals, and rescuing 319 kidnapped victims in the past year.

Speaking on Monday in Katsina, the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Musa, discussed the command’s achievements, attributing the success to the dedication and bravery of officers. “Our efforts have resulted in a significant reduction in crime rates across the state,” Musa said. “We have dismantled several notorious criminal networks, recovered substantial amounts of exhibits, rescued kidnapped victims, and brought numerous perpetrators to justice.”

The command’s efforts also led to the recovery of 2,081 rustled animals, which were returned to their rightful owners, and the arrest of 199 suspected armed robbers. Additionally, 23 major drug dealers were charged, disrupting the supply of illicit substances within the state.

Further successes include the arrest of 32 suspected vandals, 89 suspected motor vehicle thieves, and the recovery of over 27 vehicles and motorcycles, ensuring safer roads for residents.

The police also apprehended 573 suspects involved in various offenses, including criminal force, intimidation, and breach of trust.
