Kan-Invest DG Showcases Kano’s Empowerment Drive at UNGA80 Forum

The Director-General of the Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (Kan-Invest), Mr. Nazir Halliru, has showcased the achievements of the administration of Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf in promoting women and youth empowerment at an international forum in the United States.

Halliru, in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page on Monday, said he represented the governor at a global colloquium tagged “Mothers without Borders: The Phenomenology of Mothers’ Soft Power in Peace Building.”

According to him, the sessions were held at Wellesley College, Harvard University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80).

“Following the productive engagements as part of the sidelines of UNGA80, I had the honour of representing His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, at a colloquium tagged ‘Mothers without Borders: The Phenomenology of Mothers’ Soft Power in Peace Building,’ with sessions at Wellesley College, Harvard University, and MIT, Boston,” Halliru said.

He said during his presentation, he shared insights into the governor’s initiatives in women and youth empowerment, social protection, peacebuilding, and human capital development.

“In my remarks, I shared insights on His Excellency’s interventions on women’s and youths’ economic empowerment, social protection, peacebuilding, and human capital development due to the consistent increase in annual education budgetary allocation and gender-responsive investment initiatives,” he said.

Halliru explained that Governor Yusuf’s investment policies were aimed at fostering inclusive value chains that prioritize women- and youth-owned enterprises in line with emerging technologies and the future of work.

“These investment initiatives aim to promote inclusive value chains that prioritize women- and youth-owned enterprises in light of new technology and the future of young adults,” he said.

He added that the governor’s administration continued to play a vital role in fostering global collaboration and shaping investment pathways that promote peace and policy dialogue.

“Evidently, the Abba Kabir Yusuf administration is contributing to shaping global collaboration, investment pathways for peace, and policy dialogue,” Halliru stated.
