President Bola Tinubu has lauded FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as an “exceptional performer” as he celebrates his 58th birthday on December 13.
In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, for a life marked by courage, purpose, and dedicated public service.
The President described Wike as “an audacious top performer who defies obstacles and delivers results,” highlighting his key role in transforming the Federal Capital Territory through an aggressive infrastructure renewal programme.
He specifically commended Wike’s recent intervention that ended a 14-year delay in the construction of the Apo–Karshi Road.
Tinubu further praised the minister’s resilience, can-do attitude, and commitment to excellence, noting his consistency in delivering impactful projects and reforms.
“Nyesom Wike has been one of the shining stars in the cabinet — an exceptional performer, developing infrastructure in the Federal Capital as never seen before and proving that his moniker as ‘Mr Project’ is not limited to his home state of Rivers,” the President said.
He also acknowledged Wike’s contributions to the Renewed Hope Agenda, despite belonging to a different political party, and wished him continued strength, good health, and greater accomplishments in his service to the nation.
