Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved full sponsorship for the state’s delegation to participate in the 2026 Arewa Media Summit scheduled to hold on Monday, July 6, in Kano State.
The approval covers transportation, hotel accommodation, feeding and travel allowances for 50 participants, including members of the summit’s organising committees and coordinators representing Yobe State.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by Yusuf Ali, Social Media and Strategic Communications Officer.
According to the statement, the Secretary of the Yobe State Participants Committee, Professor Sheriff Almuhajir, said each of the state’s 17 local government areas would be represented by two delegates, while the remaining participants would come from the three senatorial districts and the state headquarters to ensure broad representation.
He noted that Governor Buni’s approval had resolved all logistical concerns for the state’s delegation.
“With the governor’s approval, the Chairman of the Committee, Malam Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, and other committee members no longer need to worry about the logistics of the delegation’s trip, as the Yobe State Government has made all the necessary arrangements,” Almuhajir said.
He also appreciated the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Mohammed Goje, for his support in facilitating the participation of young people at the summit.
Almuhajir further commended the Yobe State APC Youth Leader, Mohammed Musa Gulani, for his role in mobilising participants.
Describing the governor’s gesture as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to youth development and media advancement, he expressed confidence that the Yobe delegation would make the state proud.
“Governor Buni’s gesture is a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to youth development, media advancement and capacity building. We are confident that the Yobe State delegation will represent the state excellently at the regional summit,” he added.
