The Tinubu Maliya Shonikan (TMS) Organisation has inaugurated its local government coordinators across Kano North Senatorial District as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The inauguration was held on Sunday at Amani Event Centre, Nassarawa GRA, Kano.
The event was led by TMS leader, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf Garo, popularly known as Shonikan, alongside the organisation’s Kano State Chairman, Barrister Nura Abdullahi Bagwai.
The organisers said TMS was established in Kano North to promote the programmes and political activities associated with Senator Barau I. Jibril Maliya.
They described the senator as a key political figure who had contributed to the development and representation of the district.
“TMS is committed to strengthening grassroots mobilisation and supporting the APC from the grassroots to the state level,” the organisers said.
As part of the exercise, social media agents representing 141 wards across Kano North were given Android tablet PCs and monthly data support.
The organisers said the initiative would enable the agents to disseminate information on the activities, programmes and achievements of TMS and its political allies through digital platforms.
“This is part of our strategy to build an effective digital communication network across Kano North and ensure that our activities reach the people at the grassroots,” they said.
TMS also announced plans to introduce more programmes aimed at expanding its grassroots structure and strengthening support for the APC across Kano State.
The event was attended by the Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Rabi’u Suleiman Bichi, who was the guest speaker; APC National Vice Chairman, North-West, Hon. Garba Datti Mohammed; Commissioner, National Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Yusuf A. Yusuf Tabuka; a representative of the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, as well as other APC leaders, supporters and TMS representatives.
The organisers described the inauguration as a significant step towards consolidating the organisation’s structure and activities across Kano North.
