Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, on his 70th birthday.
Yusuf, in a statement by his spokesman, Sunusi Tofa, on Wednesday, described the Sultan as a respected traditional and religious leader whose service had contributed to peace, unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
The governor commended the Sultan’s efforts in promoting unity among Muslims and dialogue across religious and ethnic divides.
“His Eminence, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has demonstrated exceptional wisdom, humility and commitment to the service of Islam, humanity and Nigeria,” Yusuf said.
He said the Sultan’s 70th birthday was an opportunity to recognise his contributions to national development and humanity.
Yusuf prayed to Allah to grant the Sultan good health, wisdom and longevity to continue serving Islam, humanity and Nigeria.
“May Almighty Allah continue to guide, protect and strengthen him and grant him many more years in good health and service to humanity,” he said.
