This is about Ahmed Isa, the Ordinary President

There are events that are not meant for comrades or revolutionaries. You know it, or you pretend not to know—you are no longer an ordinary citizen. You are a chosen agent of change who uses cold fire to reconstruct society. Your ways are not pleasing to those who destroy society in the name of governance and leadership. You are like daylight to a group of witches gathered to torment a village.

Your platform, the Brekete Family, does not bring comfort—it feels like a bitter taste in the mouth of a sick person. The same way their acts of insensitivity and bad governance choke the masses.

Like you said, Baba called you. Yes, Baba, in his maradonic wisdom, will call you, but his gatekeepers know that if you see something, you will say something when you return to your microphone. Therefore, they may not want to make the mistake of allowing someone with an independent mind into their event and space.

For those of us bold enough to speak out against all odds, the only real chance we have to advance our struggle is to enter politics. If the Ordinary President joins politics today, we will vote for him, and he will receive the votes of the masses by all means. This is because he has demonstrated his capacity to serve the people. He has shown consistency, resilience, and commitment. I know very well that he may not like this piece because it sounds like a deliberate attempt to woo him into politics. I am the wrong person to launch his campaign. After all, there is no such campaign.

Change agents are never welcomed by those who benefit from the rot in the system, because they love the status quo. We must stand firm in challenging our own minds and changing the mindset of society. There is nothing wrong with honoring their invitation, but turning it down can be more productive. They seek to befriend the likes of Ahmed Isa—not in good faith—but just to keep their perceived enemy at arm’s length.

Finally, with your radio show, you don’t need an invitation to appear at any gathering. This is because you are already right inside their bedrooms. Whenever you are live, they are not at peace until the end of the show. Everyone guilty of wrongdoing in secret may be monitoring your program from beginning to end, anxiously waiting to hear their name.

In essence, keep giving ordinary people a voice, and keep being the Ordinary President of the ordinary citizens.

We, the ordinary, will always celebrate you. Wishing you God’s protection!

Comrade I.G. Wala
