Former presidential candidate and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, on Tuesday described former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as politically atrophied and lacking direction following comments that his daughter advised him to collaborate with Peter Obi during the 2023 general elections.
Kwankwaso had made the disclosure during an interview on ARISE TV Prime Time, monitored on Monday night, where he spoke about political realignments ahead of the 2023 polls.
According to him, the advice from his daughter reflected the growing political consciousness among young Nigerians during the election period.
“During the 2023 elections, my daughter suggested I work with Peter Obi,” Kwankwaso said during the programme.
Reacting via his verified Facebook page on Tuesday, Sowore questioned the former governor’s political judgment, stating that a leader should not rely on family members for strategic political direction.
“Mr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, if your ‘daughter’ now has to tell you who to work for in 2027, then perhaps she, who obviously knows better than you according to your own postulation, should be the one running for President,” Sowore wrote.
He added, “Clearly, you have become politically atrophied. Liars shall not make heaven!”
Kwankwaso, a prominent opposition figure, had maintained in the interview that Nigerian youths played a major role in shaping political conversations and alliances during the last general elections.
The exchange has since sparked debates on social media platforms, with supporters and critics of both politicians expressing divergent views on youth influence and leadership decision-making in Nigeria’s political landscape.
