Players Rushed to Hospital After Kano Pillars Bus Crash

Kano Pillars Football Club has confirmed that a bus transporting its players to Plateau State for their Matchday 5 fixture in the inaugural U-19 Youth League against Plateau United was involved in an accident.

The club, also known as Sai Masu Gida, made the announcement through a series of tweets via their official X account on Tuesday.

According to the NPFL club, the driver and several players sustained injuries in the accident.

This incident comes just three days after Kano Pillars’ first team secured a 1-1 draw with Kwara United in the NPFL.

In a statement, Kano Pillars said: “It is with deep sadness that we announce that the Kano Pillars FC U-19 team bus was involved in a road accident earlier today while en route to the New Jos Stadium for their Matchday 5 fixture in the inaugural U-19 Youth League against Plateau United U-19.”

The club added: “We extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to everyone affected and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.

“Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time.”

The statement also confirmed that several players and the driver were injured and promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported, and the medical team is monitoring their conditions closely.
