Bandits have reportedly stolen foodstuffs and drinks from a motorcyclist in Gidan Abe community, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Daily Trust reports.
A community leader from the area confirmed the incident, which occurred on Saturday at around 5:23 PM, to our correspondent on Monday.
According to him, the victim was returning to Gidan Abe village after purchasing a bag of rice, drinks, and condiments for Christmas in Katari when armed bandits on motorcycles intercepted him. The bandits reportedly seized the items and sped off without causing physical harm or abducting the victim.
“Just this morning, I received information at Katari village, where I went to see someone, that some bandits on motorcycles snatched foodstuffs from a man on a motorcycle who was on his way to Gidan Abe village for Christmas,” the community leader stated.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, ASP Hassan Mansur, had yet to confirm the incident.
