Nigerian chess prodigy Tunde Onakoya is set to embark on an ambitious mission: breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon, playing chess continuously for 58 hours without losing a single game, all in the heart of New York City’s Times Square.
“I’m doing this for the dreams of millions of children across Africa without access to education,” Onakoya passionately declared on his social media platform.
The determined chess master is using this record attempt as a platform to raise awareness for the educational needs of African youth.
The grueling marathon is scheduled to begin on April 17th at 10 am and will be streamed live on YouTube, allowing supporters from around the world to witness Onakoya’s historic attempt.
In a plea to his fellow Nigerians residing in New York, Onakoya implored, “I urge all Nigerians living in New York to come forward and provide their enthusiastic support as I strive to establish a new world record.”
