In a recent statement, the All Progressives Congress (APC) pointed fingers at Rabiu Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), accusing him of orchestrating a campaign to undermine the political stature of Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC’s National Chairman, in the lead-up to the 2027 Kano State election.
Abdulkareem Kana, the National Legal Adviser of the APC, asserted during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today that the NNPP leadership in Kano state was behind orchestrated protests aiming to oust Ganduje from his position.
Kana emphasized, “The NNPP’s attempt to destabilize the APC won’t succeed. These actions are aimed at scratching our surface, but they lack the capability to destabilize us.”
He further stated, “I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Ganduje, and I’ve witnessed his dedication and inclusive leadership. He’s a seasoned administrator, and his contributions to our party are invaluable.”
In response, Ladipo Johnson, the National Publicity Secretary of NNPP, dismissed the allegations, labeling the APC as a confused party led by a delusional leader. He stressed that Kwankwaso has no involvement in Ganduje’s internal party issues.
Johnson remarked, “Ganduje’s troubles stem from his own actions, not any external interference. He’s currently embroiled in conflicts with his ward’s party executives and lacks the courage to face the charges against him in court.”
