The Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS) has clarified that monthly incentives being provided to its staff are a privilege, not an entitlement.
This statement came in response to staff complaints about recent deductions from their incentives.
Rabiu Sale Rimin Gado, the Public Relations Officer of KIRS, emphasized that these incentives are given by the management to motivate staff and enhance their performance, but they are not guaranteed rights.
“The incentives are provided to acknowledge the hard work of our staff and encourage continued excellence,” he said.
“However, it is important to understand that these are discretionary benefits, subject to the availability of funds and the performance of the organization.”
Regarding the distribution of palliatives, Rimin Gado mentioned that KIRS are distributing more than 200 bags of rice to the staff to ensure their well-being and support during this difficult time.
“The management of KIRS provided palliatives to their staff, distributing more than 200 bags of rice to help alleviate hardship. This gesture was aimed at supporting employees during challenging times, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to their well-being,” he added.
“The KIRS Chairman, Dr. Zayd Abubakar, is committed to ensuring that the revenue staff’s welfare is improved.”
