Kano State pilgrims performing Hajj in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, will have access to additional medical care thanks to new clinics established by the Kano State Government.
This initiative supplements the existing National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) clinic, ensuring Kano pilgrims have even greater access to medical attention during their pilgrimage. NAHCON officials have already approved the operation of the state-run clinics.
“This move demonstrates the Kano State Government’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens during Hajj,” said Ibrahim Garba Shu’aibu, Head of the Media Team for Kano pilgrims.
Notably, Kano is the only state in Nigeria with NAHCON-approved clinics specifically for its pilgrims.
Hajj pilgrims spend several days in Makkah completing various rituals, including circling the Kaaba, praying at the Grand Mosque, and sacrificing animals.
A physically demanding journey, Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and a mandatory pilgrimage for Muslims with the financial and physical capacity to complete it.
