Brief About Kachallan Kano
PHARM. AHMED I. YAKASAI, mni, FPSN, FNIM, FNAPharm, FPCPharm (Kachallan Kano)
Ahmed I. Yakasai is an accomplished pharmacist and independent consultant with a comprehensive background in pharmaceutical fields and international marketing, with a focus on search and social media marketing and public-private partnerships. He has had a long, distinguished career in various fields of pharmacy, healthcare research, oil and gas, engineering and construction, telecoms, and regulatory affairs, with over 40 years of experience.
He is the immediate past president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) (2015-2018). He is also an honorary consul-general of Pakistan in Nigeria and the founder/CEO of Pharmaplus Nigeria Ltd, Multiplus Resource Ltd, and Blue Quest Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd.
He obtained his first degree in pharmacy from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1983), and has completed many postgraduate courses, including International Marketing (Search and Social Media Marketing) (2014/2015) from the University of Salford, Manchester, UK. He attended the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, SEC 42, 2020, and graduated as a Member of the National Institute (mni) on 12th December 2020.
Ahmed has worked in both the public and private sectors. He served two terms as commissioner in Kano State: first as Commissioner of Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives, and Tourism (2005-2010), and then as Commissioner of Land and Physical Planning (2010-2011). He is a community leader, having been the former chairman of Yakasai Zumunta Development Association and former vice president of the Kano Chamber of Commerce.
He is the founder/CEO of Pharmaplus Nigeria Ltd, Multiplus Resources Ltd, Blue Quest Construction and Engineering Ltd, and A & J Agro Logistics. He is also the chairman of the Pharma West Africa Conference and Leaders Club, and the founder and chairman of the Safe Medicines Foundation.
Ahmed is a board member/trustee of the Society for Family Health (SFH) (2004 to date), an independent director at NEM Insurance Plc, chairman of the board of directors at Evans Baroque (owners of Evans Medical Plc), board member of Clearline HMO, board member of ARFH, advisor to the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) on excipients manufacturing, chairman of the board of directors at SFH Access, board member of ARFH Resources Ltd, and board member of the Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas (NAPPSA).
He is a fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, the Institute of Logistics Management of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Commerce, the Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy, the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists, the Nigerian Institute of Management, the Institute of Chartered Chemists, and the Professional Excellence Foundation of Nigeria, among others.
Ahmed is a great pharmacist with a formidable network of friends and associates across the country and abroad.
