The Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMG Foundation) has vowed to continue its annual award ceremonies for outstanding Nigerian police officers in Kano State.

Chairman of the AMG Foundation, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, made this known to newsmen during the Kano State Police Command Awards and Commendation Event held in Kano.

In his statement, former Kano commissioner AIG Muhammad Usaini Gumel has made tireless efforts to reduce criminal activities within and outside the state.

AIG Gumel’s strategies in community policing have fostered cooperation between Kano citizens and more than 600 repentant thugs, by organizing a friendly football match, which was the first in the state to promote peace and harmony among the citizens, says Dr. Magashi.

However, the AMG Foundation and the Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) will continue to support the Kano State Police Command with all necessary interventions to achieve sustainable peace and stability in the state.

In addition, AIG Usaini commended the AMG Foundation and YOSPIS for their support during his leadership and also praised the Kano police officers for their enthusiasm in delivering their tasks with ethics in fighting crimes. He urged Kano citizens to abide by the law and shun any form of criminal activities.
