
The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, and former legislator Hon. Nuhu Abubakar Danburan are set to participate in the Shehu Dikko novelty football match, scheduled for December 4, at the National Stadium, Abuja.
According to a statement signed by the minister’s spokesperson, Adamu Aminu, Hon. Danburan visited Minister Ata on Thursday, at his Mabushi office in Abuja. The visit was to congratulate the minister on his appointment and discuss preparations for the event.
The meeting also served as a moment for the two former footballers-turned-politicians to reconnect and reflect on their shared experiences on the football field.
Speaking about the event, Adamu Aminu said: “This novelty match represents more than just a game; it symbolizes the enduring bond of sportsmanship and unity. Hon. Ata and Hon. Danburan’s transition from football to public service inspires others to strive for excellence in all aspects of life.”
The match will feature participation from former football contemporaries of the two politicians, promising a nostalgic reunion and an opportunity to relive the passion and energy of their youth on the field.
