Popular social media skit maker, Bello Habib Galadanci, known online as Dan Bello, was arrested on Saturday at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport by security operatives.
The sudden arrest, which happened shortly after his arrival at the airport, left several onlookers confused. Passengers and airport staff witnessed as the operatives—believed to have come from Abuja—moved in and took him away without incident.
Dan Bello is widely followed in Northern Nigeria for his satirical content, often highlighting social and political issues.
Although the reason for his arrest was not disclosed, he was released after some minutes.
