The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has said President Bola Tinubu would only lose the 2027 general elections if voting were conducted on social media platforms.
Sani made the remark during an interview on Channels Television, which began trending on Sunday, where he stressed that online political narratives do not reflect actual electoral strength at polling units.
Speaking on the forthcoming general elections and the level of support Tinubu continues to enjoy online, the governor said “If the election is going to be conducted on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or social media, Asiwaju will lose, but if it is people who will vote through the ballot at polling units, he is going to win 70% of the votes,” he said.
His comment comes amid rising political discussions ahead of the 2027 elections, as well as sustained online support for Labour Party’s Peter Obi, who enjoyed significant backing on social media during and after the 2023 presidential election.
