Gov Yusuf Swears In New Kano Anti-Graft Boss

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State on Wednesday swore in Mr. Saidu Yahya as the new Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC).

The brief swearing-in ceremony, held at the Government House, Kano, was presided over by the Kano State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, who administered the oath of office and allegiance.

Also sworn in during the event were three newly appointed Special Advisers.

The new PCACC boss was earlier nominated by the governor and his name forwarded to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

Born in 1978, Yahya is a seasoned anti-corruption expert with over 18 years’ experience at the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), where he served in strategic roles including Team Leader, General Investigations, and Constituency Projects Tracking Division.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Bayero University Kano and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, specialising in Entrepreneurship and Venture Creation.

Yahya is widely known for his work in tackling bribery, money laundering, illicit financial flows, and project monitoring. He has also benefited from extensive training with institutions such as the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Justice, and the Guards Brigade.
