The Management of Iman College of Business Technology, Kano, seeks to collaborate with the management of Kano State Polytechnic toward the improvement of its students’ enrollment and other service delivery.

The appeal was made during a courtesy visit to the KSP Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, FCA, led by the College Rector, Mal. Muhammad Lawan on Tuesday, 23rd January 2024.

In his remarks, the Rector of Iman College, Muhammad Lawan, expressed that they were at the Rector’s office to congratulate him on his well-deserved appointment and to also seek synergy between Kano State Polytechnic and Iman College in the areas of academic excellence, especially students’ enrollment.

Also speaking during the visit, the Registrar of Iman College, who is also a one-time Deputy Registrar Academic of Kano State Polytechnic, Haj. Amina Halilu, congratulated the Rector and the entire KSP community on the realization of a long-awaited dream of having a Rector from within the Institution.

“I know you, and I know your capability. You have been part of the struggle for many years, and now Allah in His Infinite Mercy makes you be the Rector of the Institution. I’m very much optimistic that good things are coming to the Polytechnic,” Haj. Amina stressed.

She further noted that the Iman College of Business Technology is a baby Institution that needs support and assistance from prestigious Institutions like Kano Polytechnic.

She, therefore, appealed to the Rector and his management to consider the collaborations, among which is to liaise with the Kano State Polytechnic’s Innovation and Vocational Enterprises Institute (IVEI) in matters related to students’ enrollment.

She prayed to Almighty Allah to protect, guide, and give the Rector more wisdom and strength in piloting the affairs of the Institution.

Responding, the Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, appreciated the visit, emphasizing the contribution made by people like Haj. Amina Halilu to the growth and development of Kano State Polytechnic, which history will never forget.

He emphasizes that for any Institution of higher learning to develop, three fundamental issues must be considered. These are the venue of the Institution, the affordability of the registration fee, and the courses/programs that meet the people’s demands. Therefore, he sheds more light on how the college should strategize to have the number of students it needs.

The Rector thanked them for the prayers and assured them of his unflinching support and cooperation to enable them to deliver on their mandate.
