Kano State Fire Service reported valiant efforts in March, rescuing 12 people and saving property valued at N130 million from a total of 78 fire incidents.
Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer for the Service, spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
Abdullahi revealed that although the firefighters successfully contained most fires, there were still tragedies. Ten people lost their lives in March fire incidents, and property worth N71 million was unfortunately destroyed.
The Kano State Fire Service responded to not only fire emergencies but also 27 rescue calls and 11 false alarms from residents throughout the month. Abdullahi emphasized the importance of fire safety, urging the general public to handle fire with caution.
