In a world where genuine kindness and unwavering support are rare, Aunty Hauwa Umar Aliyu stands out as a shining beacon of compassion and generosity. She has been a steadfast presence in my life, offering her support during both joyous moments and challenging times. Her selflessness and care have touched my heart deeply, and I want to take this opportunity to celebrate her incredible kindness while she is still with us.
During the difficult days of the ASUU strike, when the government halted our salaries, Aunty Hauwa went above and beyond to check on me regularly. Her concern for my well-being was a source of immense comfort. She didn’t just offer words of encouragement; she also provided financial assistance. Her generosity was not just about the money she gave, but the genuine care and thoughtfulness behind it.
Aunty Hauwa’s support has extended far beyond financial help. She has been a confidante, a mentor, and a friend. Her wisdom and guidance have helped me make important decisions, and her belief in me has been a constant source of motivation. She has celebrated my successes with as much joy as I have. I remember when I graduated with first class; although she was not in the country, she made sure the first thing she did upon her return was to come and celebrate with me in grand style. Aunty Hauwa has been pushing me to pursue higher degrees, and her encouragement has been a light guiding me through the darkness.
Aunty Hauwa’s presence in my life has been a blessing, and I am profoundly grateful for everything she has done for me. I want to celebrate her now, to let her know how much she means to me and how her acts of kindness have made a lasting impact on my life.
Aunty Hauwa, thank you for being an extraordinary human being. Your compassion, generosity, and unwavering support have made all the difference. You are a true embodiment of what it means to care for others, and I am eternally grateful to have you in my life. May you continue to inspire and touch the lives of many more, just as you have mine. As you always pray and say, Sadiyyaye Allah ya nuna min aurenki, I pray Allah SWT to spare your life to witness it.
Thank you so much for finding time to check on me yesterday.
