Baba-Ahmed University, Kano (BAUK), has won the National Campus Debate organised by the National Orientation Agency in Kano, the school said on Friday.
The university, which took the top spot in the state-level contest, will now represent Kano at the zonal stage, competing against other institutions from outside the state.
“The Management of Baba-Ahmed University, Kano (BAUK) is pleased to announce that the school has emerged as the winner of the National Campus Debate in Kano, which was organised by the National Orientation Agency,” the university said in a statement.
One of the school’s students, Rahma Nasir Iro from the Department of Computer Science, was also singled out for individual recognition.
She was named best speaker in Kano State after defeating several contestants from various higher institutions.
