Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Tuesday, joined hundreds of mourners at the funeral prayer (Jana’iza) of his Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Engr. Ibrahim Ibrahim Sisi.
The funeral, which was led by the Wazirin Kano, Alhaji Sa’ad Shehu Gidado, took place at the Kano Emir’s Palace and drew sympathisers from across the state.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, the Governor expressed deep shock and sadness over the passing of Engr. Sisi, describing him as a loyal friend and trusted ally.
Governor Yusuf said the late aide, who was also his childhood friend, was known for his sound character, integrity, and unwavering commitment to service.
He added that Engr. Sisi’s death had created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill, especially given his expertise and dedication to the administration’s infrastructural development agenda.
The Governor prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and asked Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
Engr. Sisi was appointed as Special Adviser on Infrastructure on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
